“A picture says a thousand words...”

At our house art is a constant flow of energy.  A child's artwork depicts their perception of the world around them, and art is a medium through which a child expresses her thoughts, feelings and fantasies.

"Art is your emotions flowing in a river of imagination." ~Devin, Los Cerros

Our girls dive in with extreme concentration and care.  It is fascinating to watch them.

The challenge is how not to ruin it for our children, by providing models and asking "What is it?" This causes frustration when they can't live up to our examples, and a loss of confidence when they realize that we don't know exactly what they were trying to create.

"As an artist, all I need is my paints and brushes - and someone to drag me away when the canvas is done." ~Pablo Picasso

So for now we try to expose them to as many different mediums as we can.
